ECTA strongly supports a continuation of work on the proposed revision of the actual Combined Transport Directive.
In April this year ECTA cosigned an Industry Position Paper sent to the European Commission and representatives of the European Parliament.
On June 8th in a EU Council meeting this topic was on the agenda but unfortunately without any further decision either to continue the work or to stop it.
A further discussion within the EU Regulatory bodies will take place end of June/early July 2026.
To support our interest a second Industry Position Paper which you can find through the below button was distributed to the Heads of cabinets of all Commissioner Executive VPs, the Secretary-General, DG MOVE’s Director-General Magda Kopczynska and Transport policy coordinator of VdL cabinet Ruth Reichstein.
